Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas will pay a working visit to the United States of America
Stenbock House, 5 December 2014 – Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas will depart for a working visit to the United States of America, accompanied by a delegation, and will stay there from 6–14 December 2014. The visit will focus on three primary fields: economic cooperation, bilateral relations between Estonia and the USA, and security.
The schedule covers visits to technology companies, meetings with high-ranking state officials, as well as meetings with the companies belonging to the Estonian Defence Industry Association and the representatives of investment companies. In Silicon Valley and San Francisco, the focus is on the cooperation with technology companies and investments. Prime Minister Rõivas will also deliver a public lecture at Stanford University. In Washington, a meeting with high-ranking state officials of the United States of America has been scheduled and along with the Estonian Defence Industry Association, there are meetings with organisations they are interested in. The visit will end in New York with the opening of the NASDAQ stock exchange day and meeting with the representatives of investment companies.
Under the leadership of the EAS, there are over 40 representatives of Estonian companies in the delegation. A large number of accompanying entrepreneurs shows that the interest in the development of economic relations between Estonia and the United States is great.
During the visit, there will also be meetings with the Estonians living in the United States of America and the friends of Estonians.
The Prime Minister will return to Estonia on 14 December.
From the Government Communication Office, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by Tiina Ansip and Ave Tampere.
