“We need to send a clear message through our actions that we are with Ukraine until victory. The outcome of Ukraine’s war of liberation will also determine our security and Europe’s credibility in the world for a long time to come,” the prime minister explained.
Michal will also take part in the European Union-Western Balkans Summit on Wednesday evening, where the focus will be on enhancing cooperation and advancing the integration of Western Balkan countries into the EU.
According to Michal, Estonia is a strong supporter of further enlargement of the European Union, but countries wishing to join the EU must also make an effort themselves. “It is very important that, in addition to domestic reforms, countries wishing to join the European Union also align themselves with the European Union’s common foreign and security policy. At the heart of this is support for Ukraine, which also means sanctions against Russia.”
