In accordance with the amended order, the isolation requirements were updated for people arriving in Estonia from the territory of the European Union, the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, or the Vatican.
Two changes were made to order. First, a new weighted infection rate recommended by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) was introduced in line with the recommendations of the European Union for the EU and the European Economic Area. In addition, the isolation requirements for this area were updated following the same recommendation. Pursuant to them, people over the age of 12 who have been vaccinated, have recovered from COVID-19, or present a negative COVID test do not have to self-isolate when they arrive in Estonia. If the level of infection in a country is very high (300 or more by the updated infection rate of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control), a negative test alone will not suffice – the person must self-isolate for seven days after crossing the border.
For the remaining countries, the 14-day average infection rate will continue to be monitored. The table with rules for all countries is updated here: https://kriis.ee/en/travelling-crossing-state-border/travelling-estonia/who-subject-restrictions.
