Stenbock House, Tallinn, May 2, 2020 – The person in charge of the emergency situation, Mr Jüri Ratas, signed an order today easing the restrictions of movement for the residents of Raatuse 22, the Tartu halls of residence.

For those persons who have been in close contact with infected persons, and who have been under restrictions of movement for two weeks, and who have not displayed any symptoms of COVID-19, national restrictions apply, same as those applied to all the other healthy individuals.

Regarding persons who have been in close contacts with a person who has tested positive for coronavirus on April 29 or later, general conditions listed in order No 52, point 4, issued by the person in charge of the emergency situation, will apply.

The point regarding application of restrictions of movement for the residents of Raatuse 22 awaiting test results is no longer valid, as all residents have now been tested.

Healthy inhabitants of the student’s halls of residence will be able to socialise with other people, following national restriction guidelines. In addition, the requirement to establish an outdoors area around the student´s halls of residence where people who have been in close contact with the infected persons could spend time, is no longer necessary, because such stringent movement restrictions no longer apply.

The earlier order regarding Raatuse 22 halls of residence was amended as most of the residents are healthy, but it is still necessary to apply restrictions on persons who were tested on April 29 or later, and whose test results have been positive.

The measures imposed by the order are valid until the order is changed and their necessity is assessed at the latest every two weeks. The order will enter into force upon signing.

Media shall publish the order without delay, unchanged and free of charge.
