Reminder: Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, in Estonia

Dear journalists!

Tomorrow, 12 January, Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, will be visiting Tallinn as part of his visit to Europe. He will meet with Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas and President Kersti Kaljulaid.

At 3:55 p.m., the Japanese Prime Minister will meet with President Kersti Kaljulaid. After the meeting, president Kaljulaid will make a short statement to the press.

Photographers and camera operators will be able to record the arrival of guests at Kadriorg and the beginning of the meeting. Please notify us of your wish to participate today, 11 January by 11 a.m. at the latest via the e-mail address mailin.aasmae[at]vpk[dot]ee or by calling 631 6229. For accreditation, you will need to present your name, document number, and the name of the publication. Accredited journalists should arrive at the Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia (A. Weizenbergi 39) by 3.30 p.m. at the latest and bring with them an identity document.

At 4.45 p.m., the Japanese Prime Minister will meet with Prime Minister Jüri Ratas at Stenbock House.

The meeting will focus on the relations between Estonia and Japan. Additionally, the Prime Ministers will discuss cooperation between the European Union and Japan, as well as matters of foreign policy. The Prime Minister of Japan will be accompanied during the visit to Estonia by a high-level business delegation, with whom Prime Minister Ratas will also meet. Photographers and camera operators will be able to record the arrival of guests, writing in the guestbook, and the beginning of the meeting. For this, photographers and camera operators should arrive by 4.10 p.m. at the latest.

It is also possible to capture the beginning of the meeting between the Prime Ministers and the delegation of business leaders at 5.35 p.m.

At 6.15., Prime Minister Jüri Ratas and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe will make press statements in Estonian and Japanese. Journalists who wish to record only the press statements should arrive by 5.50 p.m. at the latest.

Journalists interested in recording the arrival of guests and the beginning of the meeting will be divided into pools, where the number of seats is limited.

Please account for the time spent on security checks upon entering Stenbock House. Security checks are performed from 3 p.m. and for journalists interested in recording the beginning of the meeting, the checks will end at 4.20 p.m. Journalists who wish to record only the press statements should arrive by 5.50 p.m. at the latest.
