Stenbock House, 8 May 2020 – Today, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas will head to Saaremaa, to meet with rural municipality heads, and members of Kuressaare Hospital and the crisis committee.

“Visiting Saaremaa and meeting the people there is extremely important for me. This is the region where the inhabitants have experienced the virus outbreak and the consequences it has caused most painfully. In today’s meetings, I hope to discuss which aid the state can provide to cope with losses caused by the crisis, as well as how to relieve existing restrictions in a way that observance of the rules protecting the health and lives of inhabitants of the island are guaranteed,” said the Prime Minister.

Ratas will begin his day at Muhumaa, where he will meet with rural municipality mayor Raido Liitmäe and chairman of the municipal council Ain Saaremäel. He will then head to Saaremaa, to meet with representatives of Kuressaare Hospital and Chairman of the Management Board of the Entrepreneurs’ Association Robert Pajussaar. In the afternoon, a meeting will be held with rural municipality mayor Madis Kallas, chairwoman of the municipal council Tiiu Aro, and members of the crisis committee of Saaremaa.
