Prime Minister Ratas to meet in Brussels with NATO and the European Union leaders

Stenbock House, 27 May 2019 – Prime Minister Jüri Ratas will be heading to Brussels in the afternoon, where he will be meeting today and tomorrow with NATO and European Union leaders, and participating in a meeting of the Heads of State or Government of EU Member States.

Today, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas will be meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, with whom he will be speaking about NATO’s subsequent plans for improving deterrence capability and the alliance’s activities in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Tomorrow, Ratas will be meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and President of the European Council Donald Tusk, to discuss the plans of Estonia’s new government and current topics in the EU. Also under discussion will be the EU’s important goals for the next five years and the Union’s next draft budgetary plan.

Tomorrow evening, Prime Minister Ratas will be participating in the meeting of heads of state of EU Member States, in order to jointly discuss the results of European Parliament elections. Also under discussion will be the appointment process for future heads of European Union institutions.
