The Government extended Aab’s duties as the central procurer of personal protective equipment until the end of the year

Tallinn, Stenbock House, 14 May 2020 – The Government decided today to extend the duties of Jaak Aab as the central procurer of personal protective equipment until 31 December 2020.

The Minister of Public Administration must procure personal protective equipment centrally, and organise the storage and distribution thereof until the end of the year. The State Shared Service Centre will help the minister fulfil the role of central coordinator.

As of 20 March, Jaak Aab has been designated the head of emergency situation tasks, in order to cover the sudden increase in demand for means of disinfection and personal protective equipment arising from the COVID-19 outbreak. Without the extension his authorisations would have lasted until the end of the emergency situation.
